Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) and Galaxy J5 (2016) were first launched in China and then in South Korea. And now, India will be going to experience the 2 smartphones under Galaxy series.

The company issued an invite for today's event where it is likely to launch the devices for the Indian market.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) and Galaxy J5 (2016) will be the successor of Galaxy J7 and Galaxy J5 launched in India last year in July for Rs 14,999 and Rs 11,999 respectively.

The Galaxy J5 (2016) on the other hand has a 5.2-inch HD screen and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor (again, unspecified) coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB of memory which is further expandable by up to 128GB via microSD card. It uses a 3,100mAh battery.

The Galaxy J7 (2016) comes with a 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display with a 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. It is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core processor (unspecified chipset) coupled with 2GB RAM and 32GB internal memory which is further expandable by up to 128GB via microSD card. It is backed by a 3,300mAh battery.

Both the phones sport a 13-megapixel camera on the rear and a 5-megapixel camera on the front. Both the phones run Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based TouchWiz UI and support 4G LTE Cat. 4.
