New Delhi: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will strengthen its position in the Rajya Sabha by involving four more members later this week. This will happen after four members of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and one member of the Indian National People's Party (INLD) join the BJP. With this, the NDA will have 115 MPs.

These members are from Bihar, Gujarat and Odisha. In Bihar, the People's Manpower Party (LJP) will get a place. In Gujarat, two seats will be added to the BJP's account and one more in Odisha. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is the largest party in Rajya Sabha with 75 members. The Congress is the largest opposition party with 48 members and the SP and TMC are the largest non-Congress-non-BJP party with 13-13 members. Five seats will be vacant from Tamil Nadu on July 24. The names of these members are Cpi-D. King and K.R. Singh of AIADMK Arjunan, Dr. enmity. Lakshmanan, Dr. V. Maitreyan & T. There are Rathinwell.

Unlike the Modi government's first term, the NDA is hoping for fewer hurdles in the Rajya Sabha this time. In his speech in the Rajya Sabha on President Kovind's address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that the mandate of the people should not be suppressed by obstructing the approval of the Bills. The BJP expects issue-based support from parties like the Biju Janata Dal (5), YSR Congress (2) and TRS (6 members).
