India will get another indigenous vaccine soon for children between 12 and 18 years

New Delhi: The country is soon to receive a new corona vaccine developed by indigenous pharmaceutical company Zydus Cadila amid the corona crisis. The Centre has informed the Supreme Court in this regard on Saturday. Zydus Cadila has completed the clinical trial for the vaccine. At the same time, the vaccine will soon be available for boys and girls between the ages of 12 and 18.

The same information comes at a time when children are expected to be more affected in the third wave of corona infection. Giving details of the vaccine, the Centre has said through an affidavit in the Supreme Court, "The Zydus Cadila developing DNA vaccine has completed its clinical trial in children between the ages of 12 and 18 and is now awaiting permission. It will soon be available to children in this age group".

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in its 375-page affidavit has stated that the government is making types to buy 1.35 crore doses of various corona vaccines. This includes 50 crore doses of covicshield, 40 crore doses of covacin, 10 crore doses of Sputnik-V vaccine and 5 crore doses of zydus cadila. The dose is scheduled to be purchased between August and December this year. The Centre has also said that now people of all ages can go directly to the centre and get vaccinated.
