New Delhi: Former Indian captain   Sourav Ganguly has given a piece of advice to the Indian team. This advice is about opening. The team performed brilliantly on the Windies tour. The team performed well in the batting and bowling department, but the problem remains for the opening. Especially KL Rahul could not play any big innings in this series. In such a situation, former veterans of Team India have questioned KL Rahul's performance. Some have even demanded to drop him out of the team.

Ganguly has said that now the time has come that discussion on opener should be made. In one of his articles, Ganguly said that Rahul failed to grab the opportunities this has created a place in the opening. I had also suggested earlier that in Test cricket Rohit Sharma should be tried as an opener. According to him, Rohit Sharma is a great player and should not be kept on the bench.

He has done well in the World Cup and I think they themselves will be eager to capitalize on the opportunity of opening in Test cricket. Rohit Sharma has played 27 Tests and scored 1585 runs so far. He has scored in this format at an average of 36.62. These include three centuries and ten half-centuries. Rohit Sharma's highest score in Test cricket is 177 runs.
