Another Tollywood Actor Mammootty joined the line who has been tested positive for coronavirus. The Malayalam superstar posted on Facebook that besides having a light fever he is fine. He is in home isolation. "Despite taking all the necessary precautions I have tested Covid Positive yesterday. Besides a light fever I am otherwise fine. I am self-isolating at home as per the directions of the concerned authorities. I wish for all of you to stay safe. Mask at all times and take the utmost care" Mammootty wrote on his Facebook page.

When COVID-19 broke out in March 2020, the actor, whose 70th birthday was honoured by fans in September, took a year off from work. Later, after the cases had decreased and immunizations had begun, he returned to filming.

The actor was on set for the fifth instalment of his CBI film series, directed by K Madhu, when he had a cold and a sore throat. Doctors examined him and decided that he presents no health risk, according to Manorama Online. According to reports, the film will take a pause from shooting for the next few weeks.
