SECUNDERABAD: With the number of Covid cases in the region continuing to rise, the South Central Railway (SCR) has announced the cancellation of several trains in the coming days.

Starting Friday, South Central Railwayofficials announced the cancellation of up to 55 trains connecting Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. Numerous trains plying from major stations such as Secunderabad, Tirupati, Vijayawada, Kurnool, Kalaburgi, and Chennai have been cancelled.

Railway officials cited a lack of sufficient passengers as the reason for the cancellation of train services for the next four days.

The South Central Railway is divided into six divisions: Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, and Nanded. It primarily serves the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, as well as portions of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Madhya Pradesh.
