Sovereign Gold Bond scheme opens for subscription for 5 days from Monday

From February 28 to March 4, 2022, the Sovereign Gold Bond Scheme 2021-22 - Series X will be open for subscription for five days. According to the Reserve Bank of India, the bond's nominal value is Rs 4,791 per gramme of gold. The date for the settlement will be March 8, 2021.

"In accordance with Government of India Notification No.4(5)-B(W&M)/2021 dated October 21, 2021, Sovereign Gold Bonds 2021-22 (Series X) will be offered for subscription from February 28 to March 04, 2022, with a settlement date of March 08, 2022," the Ministry of Finance said in a statement.

The government, in collaboration with the RBI, has agreed to give investors who apply online and pay via digital channel a discount of Rs 50 per gramme off the issue price.

The issue price of a Gold Bond for such investors will be Rs 5,059 per gramme of gold. The preceding series' issue price was Rs 4,786 per gramme of gold.

Banks (excluding Small Finance Banks and Payment Banks), Stock Holding Corporation of India Limited (SHCIL), specified post offices, and recognised stock exchanges, such as the National Stock Exchange of India Limited and the Bombay Stock Exchange Limited, will sell the bonds.
