Veteran singer SP Balasubramaniam tests negative for coronavirus

Veteran singer SP Balasubrahmanyam has endured the negative symptoms of coronavirus and is now seeing improvement in his health, his son SP Charan said in a statement on Monday that he was on ventilator support in the ICU. "Thank you all for your continued support and prayers for my father. My father's health is stable right now and right, and his coronavirus test has been found to be negative."

SP Balasubramanian is admitted to MGM Healthcare, Chennai. He tested positive for COVID-19 on 5 August. He had mild symptoms of coronavirus, but later his condition worsened. After being hospitalized, the legendary singer shared a video on his social media accounts confirming the diagnosis. He said that he has mild symptoms of COVID-19 and said that the decision to hospitalize himself is only to comfort his family to avoid the risk."

He assured friends and fans that he is in good health and receiving the best care, urging them not to worry. The 74-year-old singer has sung over 40,000 songs in 16 Indian languages. He has been honoured with Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan and several national awards. SP Balasubrahmanyam has contributed mainly in Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi as a playback singer, music director, actor, dubbing artist, filmmaker.
