Madrid: A Spanish man mistakenly ate a rat as a vegetable. Juan Jose chewed the rat as an atichok (a beet-like vegetable) and when he came to know of this, he got angry at the French supermarket and lodged a complaint against them. According to a report by the UK website, Jose bought frozen vegetables and potatoes from a French supermarket.

When he came home and made vegetables and took them on a plate, he saw a black object in his food, which Jose ignored. He understood that it was atichok. But, as Jose took a bit of his food in his mouth, he felt something strange. He found the thing very crunchy. When Jose looked carefully at his food, he saw two eyes looking at him. Jose also saw some moustaches in the food. Then he realized that what he had just eaten was not an atichok but a rat.

Jose also found a rat's head in his food on the basis of which he has lodged a complaint against french supermarkets. Supermarkets have also called for action on Jose's complaint. A supermarket spokesperson said, 'We have contacted the manufacturer of the product and we are checking this product in every way to ensure that it is correct or not. We will intensify its investigation and give consumers every information about it at every level.'
