Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday announced an alliance for the Lok elections 2019.BSP chief party said that this alliance will give the sleepless night to BJP.
SP-BSP alliance will give sleepless nights to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah, Addressing, BSP chief said in a press conference in Lucknow along with Akhilesh.
SP chief Yadav said at an event in Kannauj that the BJP had strengthened because it joined hands with regional parties, and that his party was also gaining strength by forming a coalition. He said, “Our (BSP and SP) coming together has not only created fear in the BJP but also in the Congress. He further added that “We will leave two seats (Rae Bareli and Amethi) for the Congress but won’t say anything more on Congress — if it will be on board or not.”
Thought this is not the first time that both this two political parties will contest in Uttar Pradesh in an alliance, but this time they are pitted against a stronger rival. The two parties had a pre-poll pact in the 1993 assembly elections, which were held after the dismissal of the Kalyan Singh led BJP government after the demolition of the Babri mosque in Ayodhya.
