New Delhi: In honour of Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar, who died on Sunday at the age of 92, the Union Government has decided to issue a commemorative stamp. Several design choices for the proposed commemorative stamp are now being considered by the Centre.

The first work on the design of the commemorative stamp has begun, according to Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology and Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw.

"This will be a small homage on our behalf to the renowned singer Lata Mangeshkar, who has touched the hearts and lives of millions of people all over the world. The design for the stamp is still being worked on, and it will be unveiled at a later date."

According to sources familiar with the situation, a team is now reviewing the specifications of the planned commemorative stamp's design. "The search has reduced down to three possible stamp designs. It might be a pencil drawing stamp, a portrait of one of her most successful photographs, or even a photograph of a microphone in front of the face, which has proven to be extremely popular "according to sources.
