The all-new smartphone of Mi-series, Xiaomi Mi 8, is all set to hit the Indian markets on May 31. As per the reports, the new smartphone will be launched during an event organized by the manufacturer company only. If the reports are to believe that it can be presumed that the Chinese company has no plans to launch the Mi 7 phone as the successor to Mi 6.

Reports published in NDTV gadgets, the Xiaomi Mi 8 will be launched to celebrate the eighth anniversary of the company. The Beijing-headquartered company is also rumoured to be developing its exclusive 3D facial sensing technology to take on Apple's Face ID.

According to the teaser image, the Xiaomi Mi 8 launch is taking place in Shenzhen, China. Earlier reports stated that Xiaomi had already sold the tickets of its annual launch event. The launch will also include the Mi Band 3 fitness tracker.

Xiaomi Mi 8 rumoured specifications are:
-- Xiaomi Mi 8 is speculated to come with grooving design.
-- The smartphone will have Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC.
-- There will be an 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of onboard storage.
-- The handset will run Android Oreo on top of a new MIUI version.
-- The phone will also have an under display fingerprint sensor.
-- The Xiaomi Mi 8 includes a dedicated camera unit in the front to enable advanced facial recognition in line with Apple's Face ID.
