USA: As part of its commitment to go fully electric by 2030, luxury automaker Rolls-Royce has unveiled its first all-electric vehicle, the Specter Coupe.

Rolls-Royce claims that the Specter is the company's first vehicle that was designed and engineered from the ground up to be an electric vehicle. This indicates that electric technology has advanced to the point where it is strong enough for luxury vehicles, according to Rolls-Royce.

The two-door coupe was dubbed "the best Rolls-Royce product ever made" by the company's CEO, Torsten Müller-TVos.

According to Muller-TV, all the qualities that have preserved the Rolls-Royce legend are present in Specter. This is completely in line with the sensibility of our times. It outlines the future course of our brand and fully satisfies the demand of the world's most affluent people to improve the experience of driving an electric vehicle.

The Specter is expected to start shipping to customers in the fourth quarter of 2023 and is compared to the current Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe in terms of "gracious proportions" and headlight design.

In terms of its lines, tapered forms, and the use of reflection to incorporate the environment into the design and add to the sense of fluid motion when the car moves, its exterior is partly inspired by contemporary yachts.

Part of the design was influenced by contemporary yachts.
With a drag coefficient of 0.25cd, which is on the low end for cars and means it will use very little power to push through the air, the design makes the Specter Rolls-Royce the most aerodynamic car ever made.

The car's streamlined fastback design, which has a single slope from the roof to the tail, helps with this. The rear body panel of the vehicle is the largest Rolls Royce ever, giving it a smooth finish that aids in low drag.
Over 830 hours of modeling and testing, the Spirit of Ecstasy figure, which is the brand's trademark and rests on the front of the car, was refined to make it more aerodynamic.

The prominent front grille, which will be subtly illuminated at night to give the car the "signature of a subtle and three-dimensional night", is one of the other elements that gives the Specter a distinctive look.

With more dim daytime running lights, it is booked by headlights that are set back in a "jewelry box-like" black chrome housing.

Customizable taillights have been incorporated into the rear design of the fastback.
The taillights are colorless at the back, and customers can choose any color they want when ordering.

The design of the interior focuses on illuminated surfaces that are inspired by the night sky. Customers can choose from Rolls-Royce's Starlight doors, which feature 5,876 finely lit "stars" and illuminated fascias that evenly illuminate the passenger side of the dashboard.

A digital dashboard called Spirit by Rolls Royce controls the operation of the vehicle, and the Whisper app lets users communicate with the vehicle remotely.

Rolls-Royce initially built an all-aluminum spaceframe architecture for the 2003 Phantom and later refined it for the electric age, which is the basis on which the Specter is built.

Preliminary data indicates a range of 520 kilometers in 4.4 seconds (0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds) from the 430 kilowatt-hour powertrain and a top speed of 0 to 60 mph. The automaker claims that the final power, acceleration and range figures are still being refined.

The dashboard retains the theme of the night sky.
With the release of the Specter, Rolls-Royce announced that by 2030, all of its products will be fully electric.

It claims that some of the distinctive features of its cars, such as "instant torque, silent running, and an imperceptible gear feeling," will only be improved by electric technology.

Since 2003, Rolls-Royce has had its corporate headquarters at the Goodwood Estate in West Sussex, England, and is a wholly owned subsidiary of the BMW Group.
