Kerala: At a hybrid event held in Kochi on Thursday, Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Som Parkash launched 'Spice Xchange India,' the country's first virtual platform for spice exports.

He said that despite the pandemic, spices have contributed significantly to India's export basket, and that India now has a leading share of the global spice market, exporting 225 distinct spices and spice products to over 180 nations.

The government's priority areas for export development and promotion, value addition, and quality improvement remain unchanged, and the Spices Board's online platform will significantly boost the government's efforts to boost exports," he added.

Spicexchangeindia.com is a 3D virtual platform that aims to connect India's spice exporters with buyers from all over the world, regardless of time, place, or language barriers. The platform connects relevant spice customers with Indian spice exporters using AI-based technology. On this platform, buyers and sellers can search the database for possible customers. The portal functions as an extension of the subscriber's workplace, allowing them to have virtual meetings with their clients
