Sports minister Rijiju helps Wushu's national player with Rs. 5 lakhs due to lockdown

Shiksha, Resident of Indergarh village of Rohtak district in Haryana is the national player of Wushu. She won nine nationals in the 56 and 60-kilogram weight categories, after winning 24 Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals at the state level. When sports minister Kiren Rijiju came to know that she has to work for daily wages than he immediately reached out to help her.

According to a release issued by the sports minister, 22-year-old Shiksha was sanctioned a grant of Rs 5 lakh under the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay National Welfare Fund. The financial situation of the family had deteriorated due to the lockdown caused by the Corona infection. Forced to raise a family by working as a laborer in the farm, Shiksha was awaited from the sports department for the cash award and SC category for the last 3 years, but now she is very happy.

Shiksha studying B.Sc in sports science is very happy with this effort of Minister Kiren Rijiju. She said, 'I have no words to thank the sports minister. Now I am eager to train again. It is great to see an active minister who cares about athletes. I promise everyone that within a year I will win the gold medal for the country. '
