'Sports should not be affected with this development' Wrestler Sushil Kumar on playing with Pakistan

In the wake of dastardly Pulwama terror attack, many sports personality are demanding to avoid play any sports. Standing in stark contrast to the countrywide protest, Indian wrestler and an Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar expressed that he condemns the ghastly attack that shook the nation last week, he added that sporting ties would continue with all nations as 'it unites all'.

In an conversation with Times of India,  Sushil said, “I strongly condemn Pulwama attack. I salute the soldiers and their families. I want to tell them that country is united and we are proud of them. However, I think sports should not be affected with this development. Sporting ties with nations help in connectivity. Sports unite all and should be encouraged.”

Recently, veteran Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh had said that the Indian team should not play the World Cup match at Old Trafford on June 16. Former Indian cricketers Sourav Ganguly and Chetan Chauhan too spoke on similar lines. Meanwhile, tennis ace Sania Mirza, wife of Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik, called for peace instead of hatred.

Meqanwhile, two Pakistani shooters – GM Bashir and Khalil Ahmed –  did not get visas for the ISSF World Cup in New Delhi and hence NRAP has urged the governing body to remove the Olympic quotas from two events.
