Lucknow: The Samajwadi Party (SP) in Uttar Pradesh has suffered another major setback. SP MLA Subhash Rai from Jalalpur has quit the party and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Subhash Rai has suppressed the BJP in the presence of deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya, UP BJP unit president Swatanter Dev Singh. In fact Subhash Rai had been angry with the SP for a long time.

In view of his displeasure, the Samajwadi Party (SP) had also assured him of an MLC in the five-month-long election, but Subhash was not happy. He had been angry with the party since his ticket was cut from Jalalpur. Subhash had also refused to accept the post of SP President. BJP state unit president Swatanter Dev got Subhash Rai to join the party by wearing angvastram to the BJP and welcomed him to the party.

Swatanter Dev Singh said Subhash Rai has been in the BJP before. He was an office bearer of bjp yuva morcha along with Dr Dinesh Sharma. This is their homecoming. Subhash has joined the party in view of the way law is being ruled in UP and the winds of nationalism are blowing.
