New Delhi: The country is going to get another corona vaccine soon. NITI Aayog member Dr VK Paul has said that people may be vaccinated with sputnik-v vaccine from next week. The vaccine will be produced in India from July. NITI Aayog member (Health) Dr VK Paul has said, "Sputnik vaccine has reached India. I am glad to say that we expect that from next week it will be available in the market. We also expect a limited quantity of vaccine sales from Russia to start from next week".

At the same time, he said that the vaccine approved by FDA and WHO can come to India. Import license will be granted in one to two days. There is no import license pending right now. Dr VK Paul said that from August to December, we will have 2.16 crore doses of eight vaccines. It may be recalled that the central government's statement comes at a time when several states, including Delhi, Maharashtra, have complained of vaccine deficiency. Immunization of people in the age group of 18 to 44 years has been banned in Delhi and Maharashtra.

The Health Ministry has said that the Centre has so far purchased 35.6 crore doses of corona vaccine for the current vaccination drive, in addition to 160 million doses (through direct procurement) in the process of being delivered to states and private hospitals.
