In Sikh history, there have been many incidents in the lives of ten gurus who teach us how we should live our lives. For all in life, whether it is our family, friends, unknown person or enemy, even for vegetation and animals, etc., the spirit of love and compassion within itself has to be awakened. When we feel that we are not a body but a soul, we become more aware of this world. Then we will always able to take care of what can sustain the wealth of this land?

In addition, we become even more sensitive to the pain of the small animals living on this land. A very important event from the life of Guru Gobind Singhji, the tenth guru of Sikhs, teaches us how we should behave lovingly with others? He fought against the tyrannical rulers of that moment. His beloved disciple was brother Kanhaiya, who was given the service of watering the injured soldiers on the battlefield. Brother Kanhaiya used to water not only the soldiers on his side but also the injured soldiers of the enemies. So, some people went to Guru Gobind Singhji and complained to him about the behaviour of brother Kanhaiya. Then Guru Gobind Singhji asked brother Kanhaiya to answer it, brother Kanhaiya told Guru Saheb, "Wherever I see your light, I give water there." On hearing this, Guru Gobind Singhji said that this is a person who understood and implemented my education properly. He also ordered brother Kanhaiya to do not only water but also to the dressing of those soldiers.

Not only from Sikh history but from all the scriptures, we get the same education that we have spent a virtuous life. The key to virtuous life can open all the doors of our souls. Virtuous life means that we should take out the demerits from our lives and adopt virtue. If we have to look at the light of God in all living organisms towards brother Kanhaiya, we have to love the most and create a sense of humility, honesty and compassion for others.
