Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi temple of Mathura opened after 75 days

Mathura: Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi temple was opened 75 days later to pay obeisance to the devotees. The devotees were able to get entry into the temple only after thermal screening and hand wash to get a glimpse of Thakurji, but devotees still have to wait for darshan in other major temples, including Bankebihari in Vrindavan.

On Monday, following the guidelines of the government, the gates of Shri Krishna temple were opened. The main door opened at quarter past seven in the morning. After that, devotees started coming. Following physical distancing, devotees were made to stand on the circles made by the Janmasthan Sansthan outside the temple, in which devotees stood and proceeded to undergo thermal screening and hand wash before entering the temple. 

Giving information about the Sri Krishna Janmasthana Samiti, Kapil Sharma said that keeping in mind the guidelines issued by the government, 'Shri Krishna Janmasthan Temple' has been opened for devotees from Monday. Social distancing will be followed in the temple premises. From 7 am every day, devotees will be able to see Thakurji in the temple. But the Sribankbehari temple of Vrindavan will remain closed till June 30. The temple's Deputy Manager Umesh Saraswat has said that the decision to open the temple will be taken as per the order of the court. ISKCON temple will remain closed till 15 June.
