Serial blasts in two churches and three five-star hotels in Sri Lanka have reportedly led to the killing of 160 people and left more than 300 injured. As per latest reports, the incident took place 8:45 am in the morning on 21 April, Sunday and has brought the country to a standstill. The cricket fraternity sent their condolences to the affected as they took to Twitter to condemn the attacks.

Explosions were reported from a total of six places - three churches — St. Sebastian’s Church at Katuwapitiya in Negombo, St Anthony’s Church in Kochcikade in Colombo, and a church in Batticaloa town. The blasts also took place at three five-star hotels - the Shangri La, the Cinnamon Grand and the Kingsbury. The explosions took place when the Easter Sunday masses were in progress. The death toll is expected to rise as two high-profile hotels in Colombo, Sri Lanka’s capital, have also been targeted.

People started sending out their prayers and condolences soon after the news became viral on social media. Indian captain Virat Kohli sent his condolences to the victims. "Shocked to hear the news coming in from Sri Lanka. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by this tragedy. #PrayForSriLanka," he wrote in a tweet. The entire cricket fraternity expressed grief on the ghastly blasts.
