New Delhi [India], Feb 1: The Visitors nation Sri Lanka bounced back in fine fashion with three wickets in the opening session of Day 2, dismissing the big fish Mominul Haque in the first half hour of the day to sieze initiative in Chittagong. For Sri Lanka, Rangana Herath was the chief wrecker with two wickets up front to set Bangladesh back after their dominant opening day. Bangladesh, however, rebuilt after the quick wickets courtesy the efforts of their robust skipper, Mahmudullah, to go into Lunch on Thursday, 476 for 7 with 93 runs scored off 28 overs in what turned out to be another session in favour of the hosts.

Mosaddek struggled during his stay in the middle, especially against Herath, and trying to play one against the spin, he mishit it straight to mid on. Mehidy Hasan scored some quick runs by clearing the boundary but was run-out while attempting a third run when there wasn't one. Since that juncture, however, overnight batsman Mahmudullah collaborated with debutant Sunzamul Islam to stitch a handy stand for the eighth wicket to take Bangladesh's total past 450.

The captain remained unbeaten on 49, while the debutant kept him able company on 23 as the pair shared an unbeaten 50-run stand for the eighth wicket. The turn extracted by the spinners was just an indication of forthcoming proceedings, but Bangladesh will be pleased after that effort, with their run-rate just dropping below four an over.
