It is believed that all the above proposals seem to have been taken in view of the terrorist attack on the occasion of Easter in April last year. The report, presented by the National Security Committee chairman Malit Jayatilak in Parliament, mentioned many countries where the burqa has been banned. In this, the police have been advised to give the right to identify people by removing the mask in public places. There has also been a demand to give the right to arrest for not removing the mask.

Parliamentary Committee has also advised the government that children studying in madrasas should be put in normal schools under the Ministry of Education. It is worth mentioning that in Sri Lanka, with a population of 125 million, there are about ten percent Muslims. There are also 12 percent Hindus in this island country. In Sri Lanka last year, on the occasion of Easter, there were bombings in three churches and luxury hotels in which 321 people were killed and more than 500 were injured. 38 foreigners including 10 Indians are among those killed. The blasts took place during the Easter prayer meeting at 8:30 am on 21 April at St. Anthony's Church in Colombo, St. Sebastian's Church in the western coastal city of Negombo and the Church of Batticaloa. The other three bomb blasts took place at five-star hotels Shangrila, The Cinnamon Grand, and The Kingsbury.
