VIJAYAWADA: SRM University-Andhra Pradesh has the distinction of being India’s Third Best Private University in Nature Index Ranking, the university’s pro-chancellor Dr. P. Sathyanarayanan has announced.

The pro-chancellor added that the university had won first place in rankings from December 2021 to November 2022 thanks to 11 high-caliber research publications. For the amazing accomplishment of SRMU-AP, he gave gratitude to Prof. Ranjit Thapa, Drs. Shoji Thottathil, Mahesh Ravva, Amit Chakraborty, Pankaj Bhalla, and Nimai Mishra.

Prof. Manoj K. Arora, vice chancellor of the university, stated: "SRMU-AP has once again demonstrated why it is one of the best research-oriented universities in India."

"SRM University-AP is working very hard to improve its research facilities significantly. In a few years, it will overtake other private universities to claim the top spot, according to the Nature Index ranking, claimed University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Manoj K Arora.

An independent team of top research scientists in many domains has chosen 82 prestigious scientific journals for Nature Index to track contributions to research articles in. It serves as a gauge for international cooperation and high-quality research output.

Research areas like life sciences, chemical sciences, physical sciences, and earth sciences are included in the ranking. The index aids in evaluating the quality of research across institutions, geographic locations, and research fields.

The Nature Index provides absolute Count and fractional Share counts of article publications at the institutional and national levels and it is an indicator of global high-quality research output and collaborations. 

SRM Andhra Pradesh has a count of 11 publications, and the share of SRM AP is 4.16. Each year, Nature Index ranks the leading institutions, which can be entities, universities, government agencies, research institutes, Non-governmental organizations and countries, by the number of scientific articles and papers published in leading journals. The ranking involves research fields, such as life sciences, chemical sciences, physical sciences, and earth sciences. The Index helps assess research excellence by institutions, regions, and research disciplines.
