Stalin Meets Guv RN Ravi, discuss NEET bill and rain situation

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin met with Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi on Saturday, pleading with him to send the Bill exempting state students from the National Eligibility-Cum-Entrance Test (NEET) and conducting MBBS counselling with Class 12 marks, which was passed in the state Assembly, to the President for approval. Stalin also briefed the Governor on the rain situation, as well as ongoing relief and restoration efforts in the state's rain-affected areas.

According to a press release from the Secretariat, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin tabled a Bill on September 13 based on the retired Justice AK Rangarajan committee's suggestion to exempt the state from NEET. The CM then sent the bill to the Governor of Tamil Nadu for President Ramnath Kovind's approval. In this context, CM Stalin paid a visit to the Governor, pleading with him to deliver the Bill to the President for approval as quickly as possible, taking into account the students' condition.

Tamil Nadu Water Resources Minister Duraimurugan, Health Minister Ma Subramanian, and the Health Secretary were also present in Raj Bhavan during the meeting.
