A new teaser trailer of Star Trek: Picard has been dropped and Star Trek fans are going to be super stoked. Less than a year ago, actor Patrick Stewart, who plays Jean-Luc Picard, made an emotional announcement that he would be returning to his captain's chair in the upcoming Star Trek series. And looks like there's going to be some extra back-story or perhaps a look at the future of Picard in the series.
The new Star Trek teaser trailer has a completely different experience to offer. The trailer is quite decent which starts with Stewart as Picard, chilling in his (presumably) family vineyard. He has devoted his time to make quality wine and probably has given up his Admiral Picard position at the Starfleet.
So if it is all in the past, then what makes him break his sabbatical and return? Just so you know, the series is going to be aired on online streaming sites. With Star Trek: Picard, Stewart is actually reprising his role 30 years after the character was originated! The project is being produced jointly by Patrick Stewart and Alex Kurtzman, the creator of Star Trek: Discovery. Meanwhile, they have roped in Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Michael Chabon to pen down the script for the series. He is also an executive producer along with Stewart and Kurtzman. The cast also includes Santiago Cabrera, Michelle Hurd, Alison Pill, Harry Treadaway, Isa Briones and Evan Evagora.
