Minister Patel holds meeting with Seed Corporation regarding Kharif preparations

Bhopal: The global epidemic corona crisis continues in Madhya Pradesh but now cases are showing a decline. On the other hand, in times of crisis, the government is working fast on the schemes. Amidst all this, State Agriculture Minister Kamal Patel held a review meeting with the Director, Seed Corporation on preparations for Kharif 2021. Meanwhile, the authorities are said to have not tolerated any negligence.

During the  meeting, Minister Kamal Patel directed the higher officials of the Seeds Corporation and the Agriculture Department to carry out raids across the state to seize spurious and non-standard soyabean seeds. In addition, take action on the black marketing of soyabean seeds. At the same time, he also said, "In view of corona infection and working conditions in the mandis, the procurement of gram should be extended till May 25." Talking about the issue, Agriculture Minister Kamal Patel said, "26,000 farmer friends will be made in villages, one krishi mitra will be selected in the middle of 2 villages.''

These farmer friends will act as a strong link between agriculture as well as other ancillary departments and farmers. In fact, last week, the Cabinet has decided to reduce the minimum age limit for selection of farmer friends under Atma Project from 40 years to 25 years.
