The new SBI rule has also come into effect from 1st November. Let's say sbi customers are required to keep the minimum balance of every month in their account. This rule varies from city to city to sbi account with a minimum balance. If your account is in the Metro city, you are required to keep at least Rs 3,000 per month in your SBI account. In semi-urban areas, the average minimum balance is Rs. 2,000. This limit for SBI accounts in rural areas is Rs. 1,000.

Let me tell you that if you have not put an average minimum balance in your SBI account, you will have to pay Rs. 10 to 15 and GST charge. This charge is for the branch of Metro City and other urban areas. For semi-urban, the charge ranges from Rs 7.5 to Rs 12 and GST. If there is no minimum amount in sbi account in rural areas, penalty and GST of Rs. 5 to 10 is payable.
