Makar Sankranti 2020: On the occasion of Makar Sankranti in Jaipur, Rajasthan, kite flying also tried to erase the distance of political parties. the Tourism Minister of the Congress Government of Rajasthan Vishwendra Singh flew a kite with BJP MP Dia Kumari. The same two arrived to participate in the kite festival organized by Rajasthan Tourism Department at the Jalmahal in Jaipur. After this, the Tourism Minister also reached the kite festival organized by the former royal family of Jaipur, Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum Trust at the City Palace. The host of the event was Diyakumari, a member of the royal family. Home Minister Amit Shah also enjoyed kite flying in the open field with the workers and the public on the occasion of Makar Sankranti.

Various cultural programs are being presented by the folk artists during the festival, including Kachchi Mhori, Puppeti, Algoja, Mayur Nritya, Haryanvi Ghoomar, Langa Gaon, Bahurupia and Bhapang Vadan. The festival was enjoyed by a large number of foreign and domestic tourists as well as locals and also enjoyed many traditional dishes. A similar event has been held at the City Palace. During this time traditional folk songs were presented by Rajasthani folk singers. Tourists also got an opportunity to see the kites and winch displayed by the late Sawai Ram Singh II (1835-1880).
