States that "encourage, support and finance" should be identified: Sushma Swaraj at SCO meet

BEIJING: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, during her address at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers meeting indirectly attack Pakistan for his encouragement towards terror activities. She also raised the issue of global terrorism and protectionism. The summit also attended by Pakistan Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif.

Sushama today said that terrorism is an enemy of the basic human rights and the battle against it should also identify States that "encourage, support and finance" the menace and "provide sanctuary" to terror outfits.

"We strongly believe that our fight against terrorism should not only seek to eliminate terrorists but should also identify and take strong measures against States that encourage, support and finance terrorism and provide sanctuary to terrorists and terror groups,"  Sushma Swaraj said without mentioning any country.

There is n number of challenges that are being faced by the humankind today, leading the threat of global terrorism and there is the imminent need to build strong security architecture to fighting it, EAM Swaraj said.

"Terrorism is an enemy of the basic human rights: of life, peace and prosperity,” Sushma Swaraj said.

The criminal terrorist armed force is not impeded by borders as they seek to demolish the architecture of international constancy and build walls of fear in societies that believe in pluralism, she further said.

She also said that Maiming and killing innocent lives aimlessly constitutes the most manifest violation of human rights.
