States to follow Five-fold strategy to fight Covid: Health Ministry

New Delhi: The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare on Thursday, March 23, advised all the states to carry on  focusing on the five-fold strategy of Test-Track-Treat-Vaccination and Covid-19 Appropriate Behaviour to fight agaist coronavirus.

"We will do another mock drill to see the COVID-19 preparations. Mock drills will be done soon in all the states/Unionj Territories, red a notification from The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. The Health Ministry's announcement said that the nation has adminisered more than 220.65 crore vaccination doses overall.

"There is no proof that hospitalizations are on the rise. Increased precaution doses are necessary. All cases of severe acute respiratory illness require increased lab monitoring and testing ", the statement reads.

The Ministry has also requested that the states make sure that all medical facilities have access to the necessary medications and supplies for influenza and Covid 19. States are also required to guarantee the availability of enough designated beds and medical personnel.

Meanwhile India logged 1,300 new Covid cases, the highest in 140 days, while the active cases have increased to 7,605, as per updates from the Union Health Ministry data updated on March 23.

The daily positivity was registered at 1.46 percent while the weekly positivity was pegged at 1.08 percent. The Covid case tally was recorded 4,46,99, 418. The active cases now comprise 0.02 percent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.79 percent, the Ministry said. A total 92.06 crore tests for the detection of coronavrious has been conducted so far with 89,078 tests being conducted in the last 24 hours.
