Stock to Watch: Nestle India reports jump in profit to Rs602.25 cr, declares Dividend

The FMCG major Nestle India Limited has reported total income of Rs.3640.47 crores during the period ended March 31, 2021 (Q1 CY2021) as compared to Rs.3463.18 crores during the period ended December 31, 2020 .

The company has posted net profit of Rs.602.25 crores for the period ended March 31, 2021 as against Rs.483.31 crores for the period ended December 31, 2020.  The company has reported EPS of Rs.62.46 for the period ended March 31, 2021 as compared to Rs.50.12 for the period ended December 31, 2020.

In addition, Nestle India's board of directors announced an interim dividend of 25 rupees per equity share for 2021, with a face value of 10 rupees per equity share, totalling 241.04 crores, according to the company's release. This, along with the final dividend for the year 2020, will be paid on and from May 19, 2021, as accepted by the shareholders.

Following the release of Nestle India's March quarter earnings shares of the famous Maggi noodle maker dropped as much as 1.85 percent to an intraday low of 16,551.25 on the National Stock Exchange.

The BSE Sensex closed higher at 48073-level up by 367 points, while the NSE Nifty scaled at 14406, up by 109 points in trade, on Thursday.
