Under the direction of the nodal officer, anti-trafficking units have been set up in each police district. Vijayan said, "NORKA is taking quick action to bring back people stuck overseas owing to illegal recruitments or human trafficking, with the assistance of Indian Embassies and expatriate organisations."

The Chief Minister added that swift action is being taken in response to sensitive information regarding people trafficking in coastal and airport areas, and that the police's cyber cell is also being used to help stop false job postings on social media. Giving specifics about how illegal recruiting companies operate, Vijayan stated that these organisations send individuals to other nations for domestic work after sending them on visitors' visas.
