Washington: Strong earthquake tremors have been felt in the Alaska Peninsula. The earthquake has been measured at 7.8 on the Richter scale. After which a tsunami warning has also been given. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the depth of the earthquake is up to 10 km below the surface. But right now, no information about loss of life and property has been received.
Everyone knows that the earth consists mainly of four layers, inner core, outer core, mantle and crust. The crust and upper mantle are called lithospheres. This 50-kilometre thick layer is divided into several parts, which are also called tectonic plates. These tectonic plates keep moving from their place, but when there is a lot of movement in them, an earthquake occurs.
These plates rotate very slowly. In this way, they move 4-5 mm from their place every year. If a plate comes near another plate, then it goes away. Sometimes there is a collision in them due to which earthquake occurs. The greater the depth of an earthquake, the lower its intensity will be felt on the surface.
