England veteran fast bowler Stuart Broad has said that Stokes has a better understanding of cricket and that he has no problem playing under his captaincy. Ben Stokes will captain England for the first time in the first Test of the three-match Test series against the West Indies, as regular captain Joe Root will not be able to play the first Test due to the birth of his second child. Broad said that Stokes had a strong mind for cricket, which would help him take over Joe Root as captain.

"I have no doubt that he will perform brilliantly in this one Test match for England," he said. Broad said that Stokes has a better understanding of cricket, he has gotten better and matured over the years, so it would be better to make him captain.

Stuart Brad went on to say, 'There is not a lot of pressure on captaining in a match because no judge will judge you and I have no doubt that it does not work better. International cricket is returning again through the series of three Test matches between England and West Indies starting on 8 July between the Corona era.
