Mizo students sent to fake College by MYC Chairmen

The Workers of Zoram Nationalist Party have been demanding the resignation of Mizoram Youth Commission Chairman T Sangkunga on Monday by locking his office. It is been said that he sent 32 students to a hotel management college in Kolkata. The West Bengal government have declared this college as “fake”. Sangkunga sent Mizo students to Nalanda Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS) to pursue Bachelor of hotel Management. The Zoram Nationalist Party (ZNP) demanding immediate action towards such act and locked his office. They want him to resign as soon as possible for such irresponsible behavior.

Total of 32 students went to Kolkata to take admission in the institute, later when they learnt that the institute is declared fake by the West Bengal Government they all returned back. Punte accused Sangkunga from backing away from his responsibilities, according to him Mizoram Youth Commission (MYC) and Mizoram Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (MBOCWWB) signed a MoU with NIAS in 2014, and MBOCWWB paid Rs 128.20 lakh to NIAS.

The members of the main opposition party Mizo National Front (MNF) too asked for the resignation of Labour, Employment and Industrial Training Minister Lalrinmawia Ralte and Sangkunga over this irresponsibility shown by the authorities.

A search committee is formed on Saturday by the Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP) or Mizo Students Federation and Mizo Students Union (MSU) investigate the issue. The CBI probe into the ‘scandal; is also asked by Aizawl-based anti corruption watchdog PRISM.
