New Delhi: Senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat said that India is the most secular country in the whole world and it is a land of peace and harmony. Criticizing the students for refusing to wear the dress prescribed by educational institutions, he said if they cannot follow the rules here, they should leave the country.

Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat was addressing a gathering after inaugurating the Postgraduate Students Council of Mangalore University at the Mangalagangotri campus on Wednesday evening. He said that India has offered religious freedom to people of all religions and it has also accepted people of all religions. He said that India has a rich history and the Mughal rulers were never a part of that history. He also made critical remarks about the Mughal emperor Akbar.

Meanwhile, members of the Campus Front of India (CFI) and the Students Federation of India (SFI) staged a protest against the university for inviting RSS leader Bhat to the campus for the launch of the council. Leaders of both organizations said that Bhat is known for giving provocative speeches.
