In a recent research made in the Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China, 10 studies were reviewed. It included about three million women worldwide, with more than 150,000 of them diagnosed with heart disease or strokes during the six to 52 years of age.
The studies postulated that women who have given birth have a higher probablity of developing a heart disease and strokes than those who are childless.
Earlier, it was believed that women usually show changes in vascular properties, blood volume and heart rates during pregnancy. Well, the effect of pregnancy on subsequent heart disease has been discussed and debated.
The postulates, published in the European Society of Cardiology journal, stated that giving birth has a 14 per cent higher risk of heart disease and strokes. It was also informed that there was a significant association between the number of pregnancies and the risk of cardiovascular disease.
