A study has found, adult above 60 have more positive response about feeling such as serenity, sadness and loneliness than young adults.
The researcher found that the more older you are the more you are able to perceive emotion terms as most positive and more active than younger person.
"Older adults report feeling more serenity than younger persons. They also have a richer concept of what it means to feel serene than younger persons," said lead researcher Rebecca Ready from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in the US.
In the study, published in the journal of aging and mental health, researcher recruited 32 older adults aged 60-92, and 111 younger adult aged 18-32 and then asked them to judge 70 emotion term on whether the words had a positive or negative connotation and if the words were activating or arousing.
The finding showed that the young adult associated more self-deprecating term with feeling sad and lonely, on the other side people who is above 60 are less shame associated with feeling sad or lonely.
