New Delhi: Senior Bjp (BJP) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy has now approached the court over a new case. In fact, he says that the bidding process for disinvestment of Air India was arbitrary, corrupt, malicious, unconstitutional and against the public interest. He has alleged that tata sons' favour has been rigged. He has filed a petition against it while approaching the Delhi High Court.
The BJP MP has appealed to the authorities to take any advance action or decision or approval or revoke permission in respect of the existing Air India disinvestment process. Subramanian Swamy has also urged for an inquiry into the role and functioning of the officers CBI the role and functioning of the officers in the petition filed through advocate Satya Sabarwal and submit a detailed report before the court. It may be recalled that on October 25 last year, the government had given the green signal for acquisition of Air India by accepting the bid made by a Tata Sons company. Under the acquisition, 100 per cent stake in Air India along with its cheaper airline Air India Express will also be sold. Tata Group will also be given 50 per cent stake in its ground handling company AISTS.
Tell me, Subramanian Swamy has been opposing it ever since the Government announced the disinvestment of Air India two years ago. He tweeted with the government's announcement that the deal was not entirely in the interest of the country. By doing so, I am being forced to go to court. We cannot sell our family member like this.
