New Delhi: The investigation into the high-profile National Herald case by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has gradually put Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi in trouble. On August 2, 2022, the ED conducted raids at 12 places across the country in connection with the case, while the two senior Congress leaders have been questioned before. BJP leader and former Union Minister Subramanian Swamy, who has now exposed the case, has claimed that Rahul-Sonia will go to jail soon and they will be punished for the crime of money laundering.

Subramanian Swamy explained how money laundering was carried out in this entire case. Explaining that the Congress first created Young India Limited (YIL) on 5 lakh share capital and then bought the AJL, which had a debt of 90 crores from the Congress, for Rs 50 lakh, saying there was nothing left in it. Subramanian Swamy, while terming Rahul-Sonia criminals, says there was no loan of Rs 90 crore on AJL. But the Congress did money laundering through YIL. According to Swamy, Sonia Gandhi-Rahul Gandhi must have brought money in foreign currency and they converted it into Indian rupees with this manipulation.

Subramanian Swamy also expressed satisfaction over the ongoing ED investigation in the matter. At the same time, he said that so far there have been some leaders in the BJP, due to which Sonia, and Rahul have been saved. However, the investigation is now going on properly. He said that this is completely correct and in this case, Rahul-Sonia will have to go to jail. He further said "Rahul and Sonia will be put in jail first. Then they have to come to court. After the arguments, they will be punished under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.''
