New Delhi: Senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha member Subramanian Swamy has once again attacked the Central government. This time Swami took over the government's decision to privatize six major airports in the country. Swami has been attacking the government even before.

Reacting to a news report published by Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Puri, Swamy tweeted, "Why not allow Adani to become civil aviation minister instead?" The news report had quoted the aviation minister's K Howley was told that the NITI Ayog and the Finance Ministry had not objected to the completion of the privatization process of giving six airports in the country to the Adani Group.

According to a media report, while speaking in Parliament, Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri stated that "The Ministry of Finance and NITI Aayog were part of the decision process and the Empowered Group of Secretaries (EGOS) made public the private partnership (PPP) of the six airports. Finalized the framework of the bidding process for "Adani Enterprises Ltd. (AEL) of the Adani Group Company was given the responsibility of operating Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram, and Mangaluru airports for the next 50 years. The Adani Group also bought a 23.5 percent stake in Mumbai International Airport Limited.
