Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo and former Chief Minister Mayawati have described it as a conspiracy to divert the attention of the people amid the ongoing politics demanding to make India a Hindu nation. On Friday (February 17), BSP supremo Mayawati in a series of tweets accused the BJP of trying to divert public attention. She said that such politics of extreme selfishness does not suit those who take an oath of the Constitution and occupy high constitutional posts.

It is worth mentioning that recently there has been a demand from many places to make India a Hindu nation. Pandit Dhirendra Shastri, the presiding officer of Bageshwar Dham, is also in the headlines for this issue. Pandit Dhirendra Shastri is constantly engaged in describing the country as a Hindu nation in his statements. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has also been saying that every person living in India is a Hindu. However, there has been no official statement from the government on this issue so far. Recently, CM Yogi Adityanath said that Sanatan Bharati has a national religion.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that people of every religion and sect live here. If someone wants to make India a Hindu Rashtra, he wants to destroy the country. Instead of taking pride in the country's ultra-humanist Constitution and implementing it faithfully for the welfare of the people, the BJP's statement before the UP civic elections that it is a Hindu Rashtra is a fraud to divert people's attention from the terrible problems of rising poverty, unemployment, inflation, and government failures.
