Jammu: In view of the increasing cases of covid in Jammu and Kashmir, the state administration has intensified the pace of testing. In the last 24 hours, 52,503 people have undergone covid tests, out of which 161 have been found infected. While 2 infected patients have also lost their lives in Kashmir division. It was a matter of relief that no case of infection has been reported in vaishno devi yatris in the last 24 hours. An infected has been found locally from Katra. In 161 new cases, 143 cases have been reported from Kashmir division and 18 cases from Jammu division. Srinagar has the highest number of 62 cases.

On the other hand, 21 people have been found infected with Covid from Baramulla, 19 from Budgam, 6 from Pulwama, 13 from Kupwara, 1 from Anantnag, 11 from Bandipora, 8 from Ganderbal and 2 from Kulgam. 7 cases have been reported in Jammu district, 1 in Rajori, 6 in Doda, 1 in Kathua, 2 in Poonch, 1 from Reasi.

184 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours. There are 1706 active cases in the state. There are 439 active cases in Jammu division and 1267 in Kashmir division. The death toll of patients has gone up to 4481. The highest number of active cases are 584 in Srinagar district and 289 in Baramulla district. This is followed by 144 active cases in Jammu at number three. In view of the increased covid cases in the state, the Health Ministry has increased testing so that patients can get caught quickly and infections should be prevented from increasing.
