Nagpur: A shocking incident has been reported from Maharashtra recently in which the Pachpouli police in Nagpur on Wednesday raided six mutton shops in the Chirag Ali Chowk area in Nagpur on Wednesday. According to the police, beef was being sold illegally at these shops.
According to the information received, the police said that cases have been registered against the shop owners under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and the Maharashtra Animal Protection Act. The police are investigating the case thoroughly. The slaughter of 'cow calf,' including bulls, for meat, is banned in Maharashtra.
Giving information in connection with the incident, the police said that it was received that beef was being sold illegally in Nagpur city. Subsequently, the police team raided the city, prompting the police to carry out the operation on six shops. 140 kg of beef was recovered from here. Police are now taking action against the culprits.
