Gold prices rose for the third week in a row. This week, the price of gold crossed 52,000. Once again on the last day of the week, the price of gold rose and it sprinted rapidly upwards. Gold prices closed at Rs 52,140 per 10 grams on Friday (August 5), the last trading day of this week in the Sarafa Bazaar. On the last day of the last week, it had closed at Rs 51,623 per 10 grams.

On the first day of this week, gold prices had seen a fall, but in the last two days, the prices have run up sharply. According to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), gold had closed at Rs 51,405 per 10 grams on Monday (August 1). On Tuesday, the prices went up. On The same Wednesday, the price of gold rose to Rs 51,486 per 10 grams. On Thursday, it touched Rs 51,815 per 10 grams. On Friday, the price of gold crossed the 52,000-mark and closed at Rs 51,140 per 10 grams.
