Betul: Suddenly smoke started coming out of a coach of Danapur Express on Wednesday morning in Betul, MP. There was an uproar among the people. Thereafter, the fire was brought under control by stopping the train. RPF is currently probing the matter. In fact, the electric board in the D1 coach (general bogie) of the train (12791) going from Danapur to Secunderabad on the outer before Betul railway station suddenly sparked and smoke started coming out.
Seeing the same smoke, all the people present there got scared and there was a ruckus. In time, people stopped the train through chain pulling. Passengers jumped out of doors and emergency windows as soon as the train stopped. The news of the matter was received by the Nagpur Divisional Office and from there the Betul RPF was informed. As soon as the news was received, the officers of RPF, GRP and Railways reached the spot and the fire brigade team was called, besides the fire was controlled with the help of fire extinguishers installed in the coach.
Officials probing the same matter said that after preliminary investigation, it seems that the smoke was generated due to sparking in the electric board. No passenger was hurt in the incident. After stopping the train for half an hour at Betul station, its full investigation was done and after that, it was dispatched further.
