Agartala: Two Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs, Sudip Roy Barman and Ashish Saha had yesterday resigned from the Tripura Assembly. The two MLAs also resigned from the primary membership of the party. Sudeep Roy Barman and Ashish Kumar Saha joined the Congress. After taking on the Congress, Sudip Roy said that many MLAs are ready, but perhaps they want to wait for a few more months due to technical reasons.

He further said that everyone has become disillusioned with the BJP. I think Tripura can go to the assembly elections with Gujarat and Himachal. After the resignation of the two MLAs, the number of BJP MLAs in the 60-member assembly of the state has been reduced to 33. Let me tell you that, Sudip Roy Barman had earlier appeared in a rebel mood. He said that there is no democracy left in the province. He is suffocating people here.

Earlier on January 29, rebel BJP MLA Sudip Roy Barman had targeted the Tripura government. He had said that there is no democracy in the state and people are suffocating here. At the same time, on the question of leaving the party, he had said that he will decide on his future only after asking his people. Tripura is going to assembly elections in 2023.
