Thursday;July 14,2016:Sukhbir Singh Badal, who is the Punjab deputy chief Minister yesterday  said , “politics practiced by the Aam Aadmi Party and the Congress in the state was centered solely on acquiring power for which both parties were ready to destroy the social fabric of the state”.

Yesterday; Sukhbir said, "AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal is intentionally trying to vitiate the atmosphere of Punjab and defaming Punjabis. Kejriwal is ignorant of the history, culture and traditions of the state, and only trying to sugar-coat Punjabi people to lure them into his trap."

Badal said,“The AAP supremo should forget about capturing power in Punjab and instead concentrate his energies on improving the lot in Delhi”.

Sukhbir said, “The party had no faith in its leaders and was asking ticket seekers to give affidavits about not contesting as rebels”

Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) president further added, "It amply proves that the Congress does not trust its leaders who wish to contest the upcoming assembly elections. In such a scenario, Captain Amarinder Singh should also stop dreaming of gaining power,"
