Chandigarh: On Sunday, At the Sukhna Lake,all eminent dentists ,faculty members and residents from PGI came together for a walkathon,to mark World Oral Health Day.The main motto was to spread awareness about oral health and its blow on one’s wellness.

The event was organized by the Indian Dental Association, flagged off by Professor Yogesh Chawla, director, PGI.

Krishan Gauba(President of IDA) underlined the need of useful plaque control through useful brushing at least twice daily with a fluoridated toothpaste and restricting eating and drinking anything sweet to not more than three times per day apart from regular check up to maintain the health of your oral cavity.

Dr Aditi Kapur (associate professor oral health sciences centre, PGI) highlighted- “the importance of flossing and pointed out that by not flossing we leave nearly 45 percent of our tooth surfaces unclean”

Dr Shipra Gupta (vice president of the branch and associate professor of periodontics at HS Judge Institute of Dental Sciences) pinpointed that, “good dental care practice can go a long way in preventing many oral diseases”
